Unsigned Hugh Thomson binding design in gold on bright red cloth with the central titles, pineapples and swags in a cartouche formed by an elaborate palm wreath, which in turn is bordered by a tall palm and the final border composed of a palm swag on either side; the cast of characters is depicted at the foot of the design around a pot on a fire; Spine with titles and pineapple motifs in gold. t.e.g.

The original box has a title and borders in brown with a color paper onlay of the illustration found opposite page 136.

Includes pictorial title and twenty additional tipped-in color plates each with captioned tissue-guard. Black and white vignette and full page illustrations scattered throughout.

Barrie's comedy and satire of the social rules and interactions between different classes at the beginning of the 20th century.

A fine copy. The good box has cello tape repairs along the lower joints of the box bottom; upper portion of the box lacks one side panel and shows signs of Japanese tissue repairs at the joints.

Exceptionally scarce in this condition and with the rare original box.
