12mo (4½” x 7¼”). pp. 59. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ON THE TITLE PAGE.
Signed binding design by Louise Keeler of a tall ship in full sail at sunset in gold, red, grey, dark brown, light brown, turquoise, dark blue and black on a paper onlay mounted on gold cloth with the titles in magenta.
A series of sea verse written while the author and his wife (the binding designer) were in Tahiti on assignment for the Oceanic Steamship Company.
The stunning binding design by Louise Keeler gives the illusion of stained glass with the use of rich colors in black outline. It should be mentioned that A.M. Robertson's offices and warehouse in downtown San Francisco were destroyed in the earthquake and fire of 1906, which could also be a contributing factor to the scarcity of this volume.
A very good copy with offsetting to the eps, rubbing to the spine lettering and slight dulling to the design; Exceptionally scarce.
