Unsigned Margaret Armstrong binding design of stylized wild flowers in two tones of textured gold on orange flexible cloth boards with orange pigmented edges. Includes 500 illustrations in black and white and 48 color illustrations by Miss Armstrong illustrated paper dust jacket. This copy conforms with all points for an early printing.

Conceived, researched, written (Thornber acted as a consulting author) and illustrated by Miss Armstrong, "The Field Book of Western Wild Flowers" was the first field guide to describe the wildflowers of the states west of the Rocky Mountains, and includes new species Miss Armstrong identified while conducting the extensive research required for the text and illustrations.

A very good + copy with a neat contemporary ownership mark on the pastedown and very faint rubbing to the extremities. The very good dust jacket has chipping to the spine extremities and has been lined with a paper backing. TBR 10:5; GE10.
