Frontis. and 39 additional black and white illustrations after photographs of various South American sights. Fold out map of South America. t.e.g. deckle edges.

A historical sketch of 133 pages is followed by a description of life and nature in each of the South American countries. Written just before the opening of the Panama Canal to encourage tourism.

A very good copy with a faded spine and slight rubbing to the cover design. The contemporary engraved bookplate of Pearl Haggin designed by Spenceley and produced in 1914 on the front pastedown. A scarce Armstrong binding. GE 274.
