A review of Gross' development as an artist in two-dimensional media, and includes a section devoted to excerpts from his sketchbooks. Chaim Gross (1904 - 1991) was a American artist and educator of the Modernist Movement who trained at the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design and The Art Students League of New York, and was known for his work in the graphic arts and sculpture.
This volume contains 220 of Gross' drawings and watercolors that includes watercolors of circus and theater performers (exceptionally lively), as well as his preparatory sketches for his most important sculptures.
