16mo (4¼” x 6½”). pp. 178. Red morocco binding with four raised bands with gilt rules on either side, and gilt stamped rococo framed panels with Pointillé work. Tennyson's narrative poem about a man named Enoch Arden who is shipwrecked on a deserted island for 10 years, and returns home to find his wife married to his best friend and one of his children dead. Written during Tennyson's tenure as England's Poet Laureate. This particular copy has a very unusual fore-edge painting of a late 19th C. golfing scene. Faint foxing to the prelims, otherwise a lovely and clean copy.
