With tissue guard, 7 full page color plates, color illustrated end papers and numerous B/W vignette drawings and decorations in the Arts & Crafts style by N. C. Wyeth. t.e.g. Very Good+ condition with unopened pages and some light rubbing to the background of the cover paper onlay and the top of the spine titles. A beautiful, bright and clean copy. Newell Convers (N. C.) Wyeth (1882-1945) was a student of Howard Pyle, and a member of the Brandywine School of illustration, known for their subtle and dramatic use of light in illustrations. He was the patriarch of a family of artists that included his son, Andrew, and his grandson, Jamie.
