Zusak's international bestselling story of the power of words and reading and their transformative effect on a young foster child growing up in Nazi Germany. This 10th-anniversary edition features pages of bonus content, including marked-up manuscript pages, original sketches, and pages from the author’s writing notebook. The Book Thief was the basis for a 2013 film starring Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson, and Sophie Nélisse. The present copy is inscribed to "Mary" by the author. The inscription includes a small illustration by the author. A near fine copy with faint shelfwear. The near fine dust jacket has the publisher's "Special Anniversary Edition" sticker on the front panel, and has faint wear on the edges near the corners. Inscribed copies of both the first and the anniversary editions are scarce.
