Original dust jacket with a photograph of Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier from the MGM film with titles in pink and white on front panel, and photographic images of the co-stars of the film on the rear panel. Includes a frontis. of one of the scenes from the film. The 1940 MGM production of Pride and Prejudice was the first feature film version of Austen's most popular novel (TCM.com; accessed 11 October 2017), and was directly responsible for the increased readership of Austen's works by a modern audience as well as the numerous film adaptations of Austen's work that were to follow.
