Titian, together with Giorgione, founded the distinctive Venetian school of Italian Renaissance painting. It is said that Giorgione was Titian's master, although it is also said that they both were pupils of Giovanni Bellini. They worked together on the Fondaco dei Tedeschi frescoes, and Titian finished some of Giorgione's paintings after Giorgione's death. Laanes was fascinated by the Venetian School, including both Titian and Giorgione, and designed bindings for catalogues of the works of both painters.A near fine copy with slight rubbing to the leather on the extremities and 2 postcards of paintings by Bassano laid in.
