Three-quarter olive morocco over gold marbled boards with leather edged in gold; spine with raised bands ruled in gold and and 6 compartments; one compartment containing titles and the remaining compartments each with a thistle in gold. Double title page richly ornamented in a b/w Pre-Raphaelite design of swirling thistles and Bluebells with a b/w llustration of Burns in a panel on the left and the titles in a panel on the right. Decorated throughout with floriated initials of intertwined thistles and bluebells. Contemporary advertising stated title as Songs by Burns. Engraved bookplate of John E. Snow on the front paste-down, with moderate rubbing to corners, faint rubbing and spotting to edges of marbled paper. Overall, a beautiful copy with printing and font in the style of William Morris.
