The Doctor Syntax series was a satire on "travel" and "journey" books of the period that were overly moralizing, romantic and rapturous. Interestingly, Rowlandson drew the illustrations first, and Coombe wrote the poetry to accompany them. Light scattered foxing throughout that grows heavier at the prelims. Light foxing to edges.
