Olive green cloth publisher's binding stamped with with titles and medallion containing illustration of olympians passing the torch on front board; titles and a styalized torch stamped in gold on the spine. Includes 7 full page collor illustrations by Elizabeth Shippen Green and Others. Author index. Cut edges and batik style endpapers. Elizabeth Shippen Green studied with Howard Pyle at the Drexel Institute where she met and became close friends with Jessie Wilcox Smith and Violet Oakley; she was a member of the Brandywine School of illustration; her luminous color work shows the influence of her friend Maxfield Parrish. A beautiful copy.
